Saturday mornings

Wes and I have gone to my favorite cafe every Saturday that we have been in Hood River. He is a really good date. So far, he just sleeps while I drink my coffee and eat my pastry and read the newspaper or the news on my phone. I hope we get to do this for a while longer.

Wes is 1 month!

Take a look at those cheeks! So far Wes has been a great baby. He is gaining weight rapidly. At his 2 week appointment he had gained 16 ounces. He is probably close to 9 pounds right now. He has already grown out of his newborn clothes and is wearing 3 month clothes. He is a pretty good sleeper; he sleeps in 3 to 4 hour stretches at night and pretty much whenever he can during the day. He can sleep through most noises, which is a good thing since his big brother is extremely LOUD. Wes is also pretty loud; he grunts and squeaks and can cry really loud when he has gas. There isn't much to say about him other than we are happy to have him home and that Max is counting down the days until they can wrestle together.

Max meets his baby brother

Max was super excited to meet his baby brother. He is always asking us, "what's he doing?" or "where is my baby brother?" For the first few days he just wanted to poke him and shake his bouncy chair or give him kisses but fortunately the newness has worn off a little and he seems to be leaving him alone. I am not sure what the next few months will be like but I have a feeling that big brother is not going to like sharing his attention with his little brother.

Wes officially made his entrance on Friday, September 23rd at 10:33am (6 days early). It was a very uneventful and peaceful birth and we are beyond happy that he is a healthy baby. He was 6 pounds, 14 ounces and 20 inches long. He has a full head of brown hair and it looks like he might have brown eyes (too soon to tell).

It was raining and miserable for mom and dad but Max had a great time stomping in puddles and checking out all there is to see in the great outdoors.
