Coast Trip

Mom and dad took me to the coast on Sunday. It was really nice and sunny. We went to Cape Lookout State Park on the North Oregon Coast.

There were big waves and pretty nice wind. Too bad dad didn't bring his kite, I would have liked to watch him.

Instead, he showed me how to pee like a big boy. I can't wait to be able to do that!

Max is 4 months old today!

At 4 months Max can do a lot of things that he couldn't do last month like:
really grab on to his toys and stick them in his mouth.
he can go from laying down to standing when you help him.
he can hold his head even with his shoulders when you pull him up from laying down.
he can sit up fairly well if he is given something to lean back on.
he can blow some good bubbles.
and boy can he "talk."

He also got his first cold a little while ago and he rallied through it like a champion. We only had a few rough nights with a stuffy nose. At 4 months he has also decided that he does not like to be alone in his crib at night. He prefers the company of his mom and dad and will wake up several times in the middle of the night claiming to be hungry but I know that he really wants to sleep in our room with us.

At 4 months Max weighs 15 pounds and I think he is 25 inches long (he didn't get measured at his last appt, just weighed). He has his mom's dry skin and blue eyes (still blue so far). He has his dad's head shape and feet. People say he looks like both of us but also like his grandpa Perry. He is growing up before our very eyes!

I look like a little boy in this outfit. My mom likes to dress me up while I am still little and cannot protest. I don't mind so much but you won't catch me smiling at the camera...

Hanging out with mom

Most mornings Max and I just hang out on his blankey and practice rolling over. Max doesn't seem to mind being on his tummy and will just hang out like this for longer than I ever expect.

Outdoor Shower Done

Finally finished the outdoor shower after many weekends of planning and hard labor. It's a work of art. Come by and try it out!

Max fell asleep in his dad's arms the other day. I had to snap a quick picture before I put him down in his own bed. Look at how small Max's hand is next to Rudy's.

It's a beautiful day for golf

Max went for his first trip to the driving range last weekend. He had a blast just kicking and looking around. He didn't mind watching his mom golf either. I am already starting to give him pointers. Is he going to be a lefty like his mom and granpa? We will have to wait to find out.

A Saturday stroll in the rain

We took Max for a walk in the Bjorn in the rain. He absolutely loved it. He is turning out to be a true Oregonian! He is making kind of a funny face in the last picture. I think Rudy was telling him a scary story about the Russians taking our mushrooms.

We have a huge rock in our front yard in HR. When Max gets older I am sure he is going to love to climb on this rock.

Looking back...

This picture was taken when Max was just days old. He is so much bigger now. I remember how delicate he used to feel back then. He is so much more sturdy now. Everyone told me that time would fly and I didn't believe them in the moment. Time is most certainly flying. Max won't sleep on his dad like that anymore...
