The action shot above was recently published as the "Picture of the day" for February 8, 2008 on the Alta Ski Area website. She had no idea that her picture was being taken at the time but she was pleasantly surprised when she discovered her photo on the website (uh hum, I mean, when the press contacted her for an interview - actually, R's cousin was the first to discover the photo when he was surfing the Alta website from Slovakia). If you could see her face in the picture I am sure that you would see a great big smile. How cool is that?

R's mom is famous!

Maria's baby shower
On Saturday, February 2nd a friend and I hosted a baby shower for our friend Maria. Maria is due anytime now. We had college friends fly to Portland from Boise and San Francisco for the event. It is so fun to get together with this group. A few of thems are moms already and they are doing a wonderful job.
