Max is 6 Months!

I can't believe that Max is a half of a year old already. My biggest goal was to get to six months and we are finally here. It has been a 'wild' ride so far. I was slow to get his six month picture taken this time because we were in Hood River for the weekend and then on Monday he got a bunch of immunizations and he was not a happy baby. He didn't have a fever but he was very cranky. At the Dr.'s office I had to admit to his Dr. that he was still not rolling over. After examining him and remarking on his strong neck and legs she basically told me I was lucky to have such a calm, content and healthy baby. Two days later the rolling over began and now we can't keep him in one place. The past few nights he has woken himself up by rolling into the corner of his crib. I guess I was lucky that he didn't start this sooner.
I can tell that this stage in his life is going to be fun.
At six months Max is:
17.5 pounds (60th percentile) and 27 inches (75th percentile)
rolling over!!!
sitting up on his own
eating solid foods (so far, banana, avocado, squash, apple and sweet potato)
growing lots of new blond hairs
loving naked time and is finally grabbing at and eating his toes
sleeping for up to 10 hours at a time on his own (he rarely does this)
babbling (da day day)
getting mad when you take his toy away
grabbing at everything and I mean everything
passing toys from one hand to the other
less interested in putting things in his mouth and starting to feel things with his fingers
smiles for his mom all the time
lights up when dad gets home
and much, much more

His first graduation!

Max graduated from our New Moms Group today. The class goes from 0-6 months. We learned a lot going to this class and we are really going to miss it. Towards the end Max turned into the class clown by making all kinds of noises and just being goofy and looking like such a big boy (oh wait, maybe that was me, minus the big boy part). He is such an easy going and silly little man and I am sure the other babies and mommas are going to miss having us around. This is Max's first graduation of many. I am a proud momma.

Max's first craft

Max made his first craft the other day. I have it proudly displayed on our fridge.

Soy Baby!

Thanks for the cute soy outfit Britnie! It is so soft and warm and lovely. I got bananas all over it but mom will wash it so I can wear it again.

Waiting

Here I am waiting in the car for mom to get her H1N1 shot. Grandpa waited in the long line in the rain for her for two hours. He must really like us.

Max in his new Ergo carrier

Rudy wanted to protect Max from the rain. I think this hat will do.

Two Katherines and a creek

We went for our first "real" hike with Max and some friends last weekend. It is nice to get out of the house and get some fresh air every once in a while.

Max had a little snack at the top (Azla, I did this for you...you have ANOTHER hippy friend).

We had a gorgeous view.

Don't worry, Rudy got a haircut when we got home from the hike.

He is as sweet as he looks

Sitting

Max is getting pretty good at sitting on his own. Here are a few pictures. It helps to have him sit in the boppy pillow because it offers a little bit of support. He is getting better and at sitting on his own every day. Laying on down is now a thing of the past.

He also likes to eat his overalls. Thanks Sherri! Max looks very handsome in this outfit.

Happy Halloween!

I was a blue caterpillar for Halloween and although I just went with the flow, I didn't really like my costume because the hood kept falling over my eyes. Thanks for the costume anyway Sam and Eli, it was still fun for my mom to dress me up and take embarrassing pictures of me. I can't wait for next Halloween because then maybe I can stay up a little later and help mom hand out candy.

High Chair! High Chair!

This is me in my high chair in Hood River...

This is me in my high chair in Portland...I love to eat!

What a sweet moment
