National Corn Dog Day

National Corn Dog Day is finally here! NCD coincides with the Saturday of the final 32 teams in the NCAA Basketbal tournament (this year it is on Saturday the 17th). To learn more about NCD, click on the link above. R and I are both in office pools for the basketball games and I just learned that Connecticut lost to San Diego (big upset). R and I have both picked North Carolina to win the whole thing. I plan on eating a few corn dogs this Saturday but I am not going to compete in the triple-double, that is for sure!

Joesicca's, we are going to miss you!

Our friends the "Joesicca's" just sold their house and most of their things so that they could start a new chapter in their lives. They decided that while they are still young and child-less that they would move to the beach somewhere. They picked Pensacola Beach, FL. They are currently in route to their new location. Their first stop was to visit family and friends in Portland. We got the privilege to see them one last time before they left. We will miss you guys!!! Hurry back!!!

Palm Srings, CA 2008

We made our annual pilgrimage to Palm Springs this year and we had a fantastic time. We golfed 3 out of the 4 days and we ate like kings every night. We celebrated my dad's birthday while were there and his only request was that we have bbq ribs and garlic mashed potatoes for dinner. Who can argue with that?

I was constantly in the sand traps. I think my ball had a sand magnet in it...

We flew home on the Oregon State CRJ (Canadian Regional Jet). R was really excited. My parents ended up flying home on the University of Oregon CRJ. We thought that was kind of neat but then again we are kind of dorky that way...

Here I am on a double black diamond run. The tricky part is dropping into this enormous canyon. If you click on the middle picture you can see from the look on my face that I am pretty scared. We were riding on hard-packed, icy snow. All I really wanted to accomplish on this run was to not fall on my head. I managed to get to the bottom of the lift without any injuries.

All work and no play!

R and his coworkers skipped out on work one day to go skiing. It was a beautiful day on the mountain as you can see!

We have been to a lot of Portland Trailblazer basketball games this year. Here we are at a game with my whole family and a family friend. On this particular night we went to Hooters for some wings and beer before the game.
